Broadway hit Kinky Boots is stomping its way over to
London's West End.
Based on the film of the same name, it tells the true story
of a Northampton shoe factory which turns around its fortunes by catering to
drag queens.
It won best musical and best original score for its writer -
pop star Cyndi Lauper - at the 2013 Tony Awards.
The London production will be staged at the Adelphi Theatre,
which recently announced the closure of Gemma Arterton musical Made In
Dagenham.
No cast has yet been announced.
"We are thrilled and deeply honoured to be bringing
Kinky Boots back home to British shores, where this inspirational story is
set," said producers Daryl Roth and Hal Luftig in a statement.
"The show is big-hearted and filled with joy and we
trust that it will be warmly embraced by audiences in the UK."
