Heart-rending pictures of a child’s lifeless body washed ashore
on a Turkish beach sparked horror on Wednesday as the cost of Europe’s
burgeoning refugee crisis hit home.
Most immigrants are undertaking perilous journeys across the Mediterranean, 3,279 have died in these attempts. Receiving countries are
scrambling to provide food, shelter and healthcare to the emigrants.
