The singing superstar was last at the awards show in 2013
when she accepted an Oscar for her hit song Skyfall from the James Bond film of
the same name.
But sources close to the singer have admitted that the
‘turnaround’ between the night of the Oscars and the opening night of her tour
is ‘too tight’.
Organisers are desperate to get her and will still do
anything to make it happen but she feels the turnaround is too tight and will
not let anything jeopardise her tour.
She is aware things can go wrong which causes delays and
also the potential impact of a long flight on her voice. She has dug in her
heels on this one.’
There were people in her team who think the Academy Awards
is too big a deal to miss but Adele is in a league of her own in terms of fame
and success,’ added the source, as if we needed reminding
Since returning to the music industry in 2015 with the smash
hit single Hello, Adele has broken what seems to be every record that could
possibly be broken.
Her album 25 became the fastest two million-selling album in
UK music history, smashing all previous records after 29 days on sale, while
lead track Hello fetched the most digital downloads bought in a week, became
the most-streamed song in a week in Spotify’s history, and the video became the
biggest YouTube debut of a video in 2015.
