Sam Smith's unrequited love is one of his three managers,
Elvin Smith.
The 22-year-old singer recently revealed his Grammy-winning
album - In the Lonely Hour - was inspired by a man he fell in love with but who
didn't feel the same way, and the guy is believed to be the married music
executive, according to The Sun newspaper.
Sam said: 'I feel nothing towards him now. I’ll always love
him but I’m not in love with him anymore. I definitely don’t crease on the
floor in pain anymore.
At the Grammy Awards earlier this month, Sam picked up four
awards, Best New Artist, Record of the Year and Song of the Year for his hit
'Stay with Me' and Best Pop Vocal Album for 'In the Lonely Hour', and thanked
his unrequited love in his acceptance speech.
He told the Los Angeles Staples Center audience: 'I want to
thank the man who this record is about. Thank you so much for breaking my heart
because you got me four Grammys.'
