It was a great victory for Kate Osamor at the just concluded
parliamentary election, the young politician won at arm’s length and this call
for a celebration for the followers of Labour members in
Edmonton, even though
the overall result for Labour Party was not encouraging in England.
The Labour candidate, who is taking the reins from
long-standing MP Andy Love, gained a huge 25,388 votes, beating closest rival
Conservative Gonul Daniels, who gained 9,969 votes.
Mr Love previously held a 9,613 majority from 2010 but the
gap is now wider with a majority to Osamor of 15,419

Gonul Daniels, Conservative: 9,969
Douglas Coker, Green: 1,358
David Schmitz, Liberal Democrat: 897
Lewis Peacock, TUSC: 360.
