If you were looking for the female power players of screen
and style on Friday, they were all at the famed Chateau Marmont.
A who is who Hollywood packed the West Hollywood hotel's
garden restaurant for the 9th annual Net-A-Porter Celebrates Women Behind The
Lens.
Leading the charge of stylish, successful and strong women
was Alessandra Ambrosio and Amber Heard who shined, literally.
With off white and pale metallics seemingly the dress code,
both stars showed very different ways to dress strong and sexy.
Alessandra, as always, was absolutely radiant at the event
wearing a striking gold sequinned dress.
The gown combined a light nude fabric with the gold
embellishments and skimmed the model's physique.
The 34-year-old made sure to make the most the gown's thigh
high split, using it to show off her gold strappy heels.
The star further accessorized her look with giant gold hoop
earrings, an on-trend gold choker and a nude clutch.
Amber, meanwhile, pulled from a similar but more muted
colour palette and proved how you do not need to show lots of skin to turn
heads.
The 29-year-old wowed in a pale gold silk suit featuring
flared tailored pants and a three-quarter length jacket in matching fabric.
The actress then added an off-white cowl neck top that
delicately draped across her chest.
The star's pants were so wide that she could have skipped
shoes, but, of course, she didn't and instead added a pair of nude pumps.
Breaking from her low key shades, the actress accessorized
the look with a black and gold hard shell clutch.
Also getting the silk metallic memo, was Emily Ratajkowski.
The model headed to the luncheon in a silk camisole, which
was a similar colour to Amber's suit, and she contrasted the top's texture with
a light tan suede skirt.
Going for a less is more look, the Blurred Lines star wore
her brown hair in half up, half down 'do that floated down her back.
Amber Valletta also went for a walk on the pale side wearing
a cream gown with an asymmetrical draped neckline.
Giving her look a Nineties vibe, the 42-year-old wore the
light gown with contrasting black strappy pointy toe pumps, a dark bow
fashioned into a choker and ported a glomesh gold string bag.
Amber joined the other Amber as well as actress Amanda de
Cadenet for a quick photo shoot.
The trio had each other in fits of laughter as they tried to
all pose in unison.
Amanda and Amber Valletta also spoke to the star-studded
luncheon along with Sam Taylor-Johnson.
Just like her movie 50 Shades Of Grey, the director is
clearly all about breaking rules - or at least dress codes.
The 48-year-old headed to the lunch in a standout spot
patterned shirt dress.
It was a big day for the English star, with it also revealed
she is set to direct the new Netflix series, Gypsy.
Another two ladies not about to just blend into the famous
crowd was Charlotte Tilbury and Minnie Driver.
Celebrity makeup artist Charlotte was a sight to behold in a
fun but striking burnt orange dress - which matched her flame locks - with
metallic accents.
Minnie, meanwhile, shook things up in a black and metallic
silver pinstripe suit which featured wide-leg high-waisted pants that she tucked
a black cami into.
While the day was all about women, one male interloper
managed to make it in, Welsh actor Ioan Gruffudd.
The dapperly dressed actor provided a handsome escort for
his talent actress wife Alice Evans.
Also attending the pre-Oscars celebration was Rachel Zoe,
Full House star Lori Loughlin, actress Saffron Burrows and stylist Cristina
Ehrlich.
