Malcolm A Benson is a multi award
winning Media Professional and the Director and Executive Producer at
Benalex Media Production. He is a creative champion specializing in Screen Play
Writing, Producing, Acting, and Directing in different areas including films
and television.
Benson has
successfully completed a number of projects such as Phantom of Fury;
Forget the Pact, Ortega and His Enemies, Lads in The City and Return of The Don
etc.
MA Benson also
produced and directed TV programmes such as Take 101
and Show4Africa TV.
His recent film Return of The Don has won the
Hollywood International Moving Pictures Film Festival Award of Recognition,
including receiving other nominations such as The Los Angeles Independent Film
Festival Awards, The Depth of Field International Film Festival Competition,
and Accolade International Film Festival official selection etc.
Return of The Don is Scheduled to screen in Los
Angeles in March 2016, in Marchedu Film in Cannes Film Festival May 2016 and will
premiere at the Biggest screen in Europe The BFI IMAX in London Waterloo (June
17th 2016) Red Carpet 7.00pm
The film had picked up fourteen nominations so far. These include five in the African Oscars Diaspora Film Awards (NAFCA), Five in the BEFFTA and Four in ZAFAA Global Awards. Ortega and His Enemies also won 4 Awards of which Mr. Benson won Best UK Director in the African Film and Academy Awards.
His first academic degree was in Professional Studies in Education followed by a second degree in Law.
M A Benson has acquired a Post-graduate award in Legal Practice and has also qualified as a Teacher in Information Technology before following his passion and extending his reach into the Media and Entertainment industry.
He is an entrepreneur and the owner of Benalex Studio based in West Silvertown London.
His Media Company launched one of the first Igbo TV shows on a UK Television, which aired on Ben TV paving the way for other producers of similar shows.
He was a founding member and creator of the successful Igbo Heritage Awards event. M A Benson is actively involved in the community leadership and empowerment projects.
He has worked actively as a committee member for three Former Mayors of London Borough of Waltham Forest and the Former Mayor of London Borough of Enfield raising money for various charities.
He is a committee member for delivering the successful Nigerian Centenary Awards UK 2014. M A Benson is the former president of a youth organization for all Igbos based in the UK called The Igbo Cultural and Support Network (ICSN). 
He is the President of Okija UK (2013/16) and a founding member and current Vice President of the UK Nollywood Producers Guild.
M A Benson is driven by his passion for giving back to the community. He recently among other awards won the Life Changers Award as an Art and Culture Champion for his work in Art and Culture within the UK and wider community.
