Prince was reportedly treated for an ‘overdose’ in hospital
days before his death.
The Purple Rain singer was found dead at his Minneapolis
mansion on Thursday. He was 57-years-old.
The singer, full name Prince Rogers Nelson, recently
suffered a medical emergency during a flight, forcing the plane to make an
emergency landing.
His spokespeople at the time confirmed he had been suffering
with the flu.
Now ‘multiple sources’ have claimed to TMZ that Prince had
been treated for a ‘drug overdose’.
After falling ill mid-flight he was rushed to hospital where
doctors allegedly gave him a ‘save shot’, which is usually given to counteract
the effects of an opiate.
The source also claim that the musician was advised to stay
in hospital for 24 hours, but when his camp requested a private room they were
told this wasn’t possible, to Prince and his team left after three hours.
TMZ add that authorities are ‘trying to get the hospital
records to help determine cause of death’.
During Prince’s last public appearance at a party he hosted
in Paisley Park last weekend, he told fans to ‘save your prayers’.
Fan Gretchen Richardson told Press Association: ‘He just
said, “Save your prayers for a couple of days. I’m OK. I’m here, thank you. I
appreciate it.
