Woman discovered her new wedded husband was convicted paedo a week after their marriage

A woman discovered she was married to a convicted paedophile a week after their wedding and is still trying to divorce him five years on.

Jazmin Cullen, 24, married 31-year-old Jason Cullen within months of their first meeting, but realised he was a paedophile when she discovered child abuse pictures on his laptop during their honeymoon.

She told police about her discovery, and found that Cullen had been jailed two years earlier for the possession of 8,000 child abuse images and for exchanging them with other paedophiles.

Five years on, Jazmin is still unable to divorce her husband because Cullen, whose real name is Jason Hodson, is dragging out the legal proceedings.

 ‘He seemed like such a normal and charming man and still to this day I find it very hard to believe it is the same person,’ Jazmin said.

‘I wanted to believe it was all a mistake. At no point did I ever support his actions, but I wanted to believe that it was not true.

‘Divorcing him will be the final step in moving on but so far he has denied me that.

Trapped Jazmin Cullen, 24, thought Jason Cullen was Mr Right when she met him in a pub and within months they got married. 

But on their honeymoon horrified Jazmin realised she had wed a monster when she found sick child abuse pics on a laptop and shopped him to police. Jazmin then found out that Cullen, 31, a former ambulance call operator, had also lied to her about his identity and criminal past.

Jazmin’s mother, Jennifer, also found child abuse images on her computer after Cullen had used it. Some of the pictures featured children as young as two.

Jazmin and Jennifer confronted Cullen, who initially tried to blame Jennifer before confessing.

Kingston Crown Court had heard two years before how Cullen had swapped pictures of babies and children, some at the worst possible level, with other paedophiles.
