DJ Robert Miles dies from undisclosed illness aged 47

DJ Robert Miles best known for his 1990s hit Children has died at the age of 47, it has emerged.


The Swiss-born Italian, whose real name is Robert Concina, died of an undisclosed illness.


Miles topped the charts in at least 12 countries with his 1995 dance track Children, which sold more than five million copies by the end of 1997 and earned the artist a Brit Award


His longtime friend Joe T Vanelli is quoted as saying: 'The tragic news of the death of a very talented artist of our time, makes me incredulous and upset.

'I will miss the fights, brawls, criticism, judgements but especially your talent in finding sounds and melodies unparalleled.'

Miles, who is believed to have been in Ibiza, Spain, when he died, released six studio albums with the biggest commercial success being Dreamland in 1996 which made the Top 10 in seven countries.
