Simon Cowell has reportedly signed 5 After Midnight to his
label Syco Records after their successful stint on X Factor.
The music mogul, 57, is said to be a 'big fan' of Kieran
Alleyne, Nathan Lewis and Jordan Lee and thinks they have serious potential as
an 'urban boyband'.
The alleged signing for the popular trio - who came third on
the ITV show - comes as the actual winner Matt Terry was given a deal with Sony
RCA instead of Syco.
A show insider told the Daily Star: 'The boys are overjoyed
and can't believe they are signing to Syco. Simon has been a big fan of 5 After
Midnight throughout the series.
Out of all the artists he thinks 5AM have the biggest gap
in the market to play with.
There are very few boybands around at the moment and even
fewer urban boybands who dance.'
MailOnline has contacted a representative for 5 After
Midnight for comment.
And the band seemed to hint at promising things to come as
they Tweeted on Monday about 'exciting things' ahead.
On their official account, they penned: 'We cannot wait for
the new year so many exciting things are happening!!! How's everyone's
Sunday?x'
If reports of a contract with Syco are true, it means 5
After Midnight are the second act from this year's X Factor to be offered a
deal - alongside controversial rapper Honey G.
The divisive act, 35, was spotted heading into the studio to
film her first music video in London last Tuesday.
Honey G confirmed earlier that week that she had bagged a
record deal with Simon's label Syco - sharing the news on Twitter before Sunday
night's final.
She had been hinting at a deal with the music mogul for
weeks, and finally announced the signing during the live final at the weekend.
Despite being voted off in Week 7, Honey G revealed her
first single would be released on December 23, going head to head with winner
Matt Terry's own track.
In a video clip posted on her Twitter account, Honey G said:
'Yo yo yo this is your girl Honey G.
