Return of The Don world class movie hits Nigerian Cinemas'' Friday 31st March 2017

Return of The Don movie, directed by the Cannes Certified Multi Award winning Director Malcolm A Benson hits Nigerian Cinemas on Friday 31st March 2017. Distributed by Metro Classic Pictures, Return of The Don will run at various cinemas including Silverbird Cinemas,Filmhouse Cinemas, Genesis Deluxe Cinemas Ozone Cinemas, Kada Cinemas, Viva Cinemas, Lighthouse Cinemas etc. There will be further releases in Ghana, South Africa and other African countries following the Nigeria opening weekend.



Return of The Don made a historic success at the London BFI IMAX Cinema First Official Release. The Box Office result revealed that In the London opening weekend Return of The Don went straight to number 23 in the overall UK Box Office chart having sold out its entire tickets before the event. This is a historic and inspiring success for Independent Filmmakers based in Diaspora especially for Directors and Producers of African Descent in the highly competitive film industry often dominated by very high budget Hollywood blockbuster films.
Logline: When Police Commander Tracy Caparro, learnt that an ex‐mob boss Charlie Reid will soon return to the City, it became clear that mayhem is about to unfold. With Jack Ackerman the new gang leader already turning the City into a land of massacre, she must task DC Mills with the deadly assignment of keeping the two gang leaders at bay and her position secure.



Return of the Don” guarantees a new height and insight showcasing the ethnic minority group in charge and in top police ranks in a police culture often dominated by white men. It also highlights black women police commander (Monalisa Chinda) in power and in charge of a British police constabulary. Return of The Don takes the audience on a journey into the  youth gun crime and mob culture. It exposes the secret gangs’ culture and it’s impact on young people being used by the mafia group for illegal and dangerous  criminal activities often with fatal consequences. The film is packs with action and suspense, which aims to capture a global intrigue keeping it’s audience at the edge from start to finish.

Return of The Don’s cast is a mixture of white and black British and African heavy weights including Monalisa Chinda starring as Police Commander Caparro, Steve McTigue – as Jack Ackerman (also starred in Jack the Giant Killer), Paul Van Beaumont as Charlie Reid (also starred in Gatwick Gangster), Malcolm A Benson starring as DC Mills, Lucien Morgan (An American Werewolf in London, Ortega and His Enemies) playing DC Chapman, The emerging UK talent Grace Holley, playing Megan Brooks, Amanda Lara Kay (Lead actress in Vampire Resurrection) playing Dana Ackerman, Aida Emeliyanova (The Beast of Bevendean) playing Amber Richardson, Jack Ackerman’s most dangerous serial killer.

So far Return of The Don and the cast have won over 20 Film Festival Awards. These include the Hollywood International Moving Pictures Film Festival Award of Recognition, Canada International Film Festival Award of Excellence, Depth of Field International Film Festival Award of Exceptional Merit, Accolade International Film Festival Award etc. Return of The Don has received over 40 Film Award Nominations so far including The Los Angeles Independent Film Festival Awards, Festival International De Film du Cannes, London Independent Film Festival, NAFCA Awards, ZAFAA Global Awards, CA Awards, BEFFTA Awards, Cameron Film Awards, African Film Awards etc. Return of The Don was premiered in Cannes twice and was chosen and screened at the Mache Du Film by the New World Cinemas in Cannes.


The director Malcolm A Benson has won Best Director/best Actor having been Nominated Best Director, Best Producer, Best Screen Writer and Best Actor by the Los Angeles based NAFCA Prestigious Awards, BEFFTA Awards, ZAFAA Global Awards and African Film Awards in 2016 Awards seasons. Director M A Benson has amongst other awards picked up the prestigious GAB award at the Gathering of Africa's Best for his contributions in projecting a positive image of Africa and Africans in Art and The Life Changers Award as a Champion for Art and Culture.
